March, 2018 (Exact Dates Forthcoming)
with Anand Mehrotra, Dayna Seraye & Yoshi Aono
Journey to the mother land of yoga on a sacred pilgrimage of transformation.
We will practice Sattva Yoga with Anand Mehrotra, commune with the Ganga, explore temples and experience the wisdom and potency of India. For our SEVA project we will support Anand’s projects to serve underpriveleged children in Rishikesh.
Experience the Magic of Sattva Center
Located along the holy Ganges River and set on ceremonial grounds, The Sattva Retreat is a sanctuary for retreat. In its simplest form, Sattva means purity of spirit. It is in this place of purity, embraced by the power of Himalayas and nourished by the clarity of the Ganges, that true transformation can take place.
Sattva Center is located 20 minutes from the heart of Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga.
Rejuvenate on Sacred Lands
The Sattva Retreat is located on a sacred pilgrimage route that the yogis and the rishis used in ancient times on their journey to the higher Himalayas. There is an ancient temple in the village that pilgrims used to stop and pay their respect at on their way to the high Himalayas. One can still visit and do ceremony at the temple.
As you step on the land you feel the powerful yogic vibrations. Sattva Center is surrounded by the Shiva Lake mountain range (dreadlocks of Shiva) of the lower Himalayas. All of the property is facing east, therefore the first rays of the rising sun greet you over the Hymalaya’s and the fresh water Himalayan stream acts as a nurturing reminder of the grace or love that is ever present in life.
Sattva Retreat offers a fusion of contemporary Western amenities and traditional Indian village culture.
All of Sattva Retreat’s cuisine is organic, farm-to-table food and vegetarian, with fresh locally grown ingredients from the villages that surround us.
Transform with Sattva Yoga
Anand Mehrotra is the founder and master teacher of Sattva Yoga, a radically holistic, ever-evolving, transformational practice.
Sattva Yoga is a complete path to create an experience of wholeness in the individual and the collective. Sattva Yoga was developed in the Himalayas over a decade ago, and has now spread around the world to the United States, Canada, Norway, Russia, South Africa, and elsewhere.
Sattva Yoga includes ancient yogic techniques as well as current evolutionary practices to create a clear path for the individual to experience a full and joyous life. Sattva Yoga classes are ever-evolving and inclusive. They include meditation, breath work, hatha postures, vinyasa flows, kriyas, mantras, free movement, and wisdom. There are no levels in Sattva Yoga. Rather, each class welcomes each student to arrive as they are, listen to the needs of their bodies and minds in any given moment, and enjoy practicing together.
Integrate with Vinyasa & Yin Yoga
Dayna Seraye will offer vinyasa, yin yoga and bhakti practices. These heart-opening sessions will support the integration of our experiences and retreat community. A healing artist, Dayna weaves earth-based practices, somatic psychotherapy and energy medicine into her teaching.
Supporting Children in Need
Our hands-on SEVA project will benefit Anand’s nonprofit organizations in Rishikesh. The Kushi Charitable Society is a 100 % volunteer-based charity organization that aims to develop local educational programs and in doing so to provide better opportunities for underprivileged children and make their experience of this world a joyous one. Today, the Khushi project supports hundreds of children with this grass root project funded 100% by donations.
Hanuman Adventures will be working hand-in-hand with the Kushi based on the current needs of the children. We plan to maximize our group resources to contribute responsibly to the needs of the organization, connect with the children, and experience the rewards of seva.
