Join us for an epic yoga alchemy adventure to the heart of the Sacred Valley. Practice shamanic yoga everyday amidst the “apus” – the spirits of the sacred mountains. Trek through the sacred land and experience the power centers of Incan culture while activating your highest potential.

Our hands-on SEVA project will support an orphanage of children that resides within walking distance of our beautiful retreat center. We will experience authentic Peruvian ceremony and awaken the inner guru/shaman as we co-create transformation and healing as a tribe.

After the overwhelming response to Juan Pablo’s shamanic yoga and our heartfelt connection at Hanuman Festival 2015, it became clear that his presence is deeply aligned with our Hanuman Adventure to Peru. This once in a lifetime experience is not to be missed! Join us.

Location

The Heart of the Sacred Valley

For the first five nights of our adventure we will stay in a beautiful retreat center  nestled at the foot of Apu Puma Wanka (a breathtaking mountain) in the Puma Wanka Valley. We will be surrounded by nature and yet still close to the lively yet tranquil, indigenous town of Urubamba.

machu_picchu-sm

Our yoga studio has 3 walls made of windows that look out over the grounds and we will also venture outdoors for shamanic yoga immersed in nature. Just over the ridge from our lodge is Ninos del Sol, the orphanage that we will support with our seva project.

Machu Picchu

The final 2 days of our retreat will be dedicated to exploring Machu Picchu, the ancient Incan city that has been named one of the new seven wonders of the world. We will stay at the base of this great mountain in Aguas Calientes and practice early in the morning at the infamous Sun Gate. We will immerse ourselves in the history and sacred sites of Inti Watana, the Temple of the Sun, the Room of the Three Windows and more.

Shamanic Yoga

Practice Amidst the “Apus”

The Peruvian people believe that their mountains are sacred. They call the spirits of the mountains “apus.” We will practice shamanic yoga everyday in the power vortex of the land.

Shamanic yoga alchemizes sacred sound, empowering asana, rhythms, pranayama, core awakening, holistic vinyasa, tantric and toltech techniques and creative exploration to awaken our inner sanctuaries and activate our ancestral and cosmic potential. We dayna-shamanic-yogamove with the pulsation of the Universe to open up every energy center in our body and enjoy the bliss of being alive. We refine our body temples as vessels for the Divine to manifest.

Music for the Soul

Song, Dance & Bliss

Using specific frequencies (432hz) we awaken our beings at a cellular-ancestral level, creating a sacred space for us to remember our roots…to remember who we really are…We travel together were there is no time or space, that inner state where we are one tribe singing and celebrating as the Absolute…for the Absolute. Through mantras and rhythms of cultures from all over the world, we remember we are one humanity, one heart, one race…ONE LOVE.

Seva

Supporting the Children of Ninos del Sol

ninos-del-sol

Niños del Sol is home to a lively family of 23 Peruvian children in a beautiful home on a large lush magical piece of land. These children came to Ninos del Sol alone in the world, orphaned or abandoned. Nearly all of them have been abused and arrived with trauma of some sort. Viviana and Avishai, the directors and caretakers of Ninos del Sol, are providing these orphans with a home, a family, education, organic food, and a chance at a future.

Hanuman Adventures will be working with Ninos del Sol on a special, customized project based on the current needs of the children and organization. We plan to maximize our group resources to improve the lives and opportunities for growth of this beautiful family. In the afternoons after school we will have the chance to connect with the children. www.ninosdelsol.org

Sacred Treks

moray-sm
Apu Chicon Hike

Apu Chicon is a Sacred Mountain & Keuena Forest filled with ancient trees. This old forest of the native Keuena trees, grows at an altitude of over 3,000 meters. The forest floor is covered with thick moss and fresh clear water springs flow out under the rocks from the Chicon Glacier.

This enchanted forest trek is a perfect place to explore, rest, meditate and reflect. Being here will bring inspiration, rejuvenation, and a sense of falling in love with life all over again.

Moray & the Salt Mines

Visit one of Peru’s most well preserved ruins sitting on a high plateau of over 11,000 ft. This area is home to a highly sophisticated Incan agricultural system with stunning views of the Sacred Valley. From here we will hike on to the Mineras de Sal, a spectacular natural wonder. Our journey will take us along an age-old crossroad where time stands still and the scenery is epic. This passage is still the preferred route for local indigenous Quechua.

despachoCeremony

Pago a la Tierra / Despacho

The Incans honor Pachamama or Madre Tierra (Mother Earth) as the divine protector and provider of life. This shamanic ritual invokes Madre Tierra to honor Her for all that She gives. It is a traditional ceremony of Gratitude and Personal Blessing.

Shamanic Journey

Experience alchemical transmutation, chakra alignment, the awakening of awareness and intuition and a greater sense of connection as we take a shamanic journey with our Peruvian guides.

Cacao Ceremony

caco-ceremony-hanumanA cacao ceremony is an opportunity to connect to yourself and open your heart. Because of cacao’s ability to increase your connection to your inner self and your heart chakra, it aids in any transformational shift you are working towards, whether you are looking to deepen your understanding of who you are, release old patterns and traumas, or just awaken your full potential.

Whatever your path, the intention is yours to set, and the cacao allows you to the insight and awareness to move towards that goal in awareness and bliss.
We unite as a sangha (community of love) to support each other and celebrate the light of our inner Sun.
Musical Shamanic Healing
with Papoq & Christine

We will gather for an evening of music and healing with our guides Papoq and Christine. This one of a kind experience is a deep meditative journey of healing and visions.

Healthy Food

From the Gardens of Avishai

Avishai (of Ninos del Sol) is an artisan chef and avid organic gardener and will be providing us with nourishing food at the retreat center. The meals are delicious & healthy (mostly organic, vegan and vegetarian) cuisine and include a mix of local Andean ingredients, with Peruvian and Middle Eastern fusion.

Travel to Peru

The Hanuman Adventures retreat to Peru begins and ends in Cusco.

    1. Book your flight to Lima, the capital of Peru. The airport code is LIM. Depending on the arrival time of your international flight into Lima, (many are night flights from the U.S./Canada arriving in Lima late evening or early morning), you may have to spend the night in Lima (contact us for hotel options).
    2. Take a domestic flight from Lima to Cusco. Allow at least 2-3 hours in between your international and domestic flights in case of delays.

Flight time from Lima to Cusco is one hour. It is recommended to book these domestic flights in the morning as weather is typically better and there is less chance of flight delay or cancellation.

LAN Airlines, TACA Airlines and Copa Air have international flights from the US/Canada to Lima with connections to Cusco. Multiple US carriers fly into Lima. Our favorite online sites are Kayak.com and Mobissimo.com. You can also check airline websites directly. Consider working with a travel agent as well.

A valid passport is required for all foreign visitors to Peru. An entry visa is not required for American or Canadian nationals. Please inquire with the nearest Peruvian consulate for entry requirements for other nationalities.
